Time Stamps
55 – We must at all times remember that poor performance from our horse is NOT an equine conspiracy but rather a reflection of our ability to encourage and enlighten the horse to understand our bizarre requests of it.
37 – Len Benfer was a farmer who lived nearby when I was a child.
12 – He took a look at my gelding and pronounced him “a good walking horse”. This engaged my curiosity to discover what it was that Len saw from just seeing my horse in the paddock to know what he’d be good at. He discussed conformation with me and told amazing tales of harness horses he drove as a child and working with bullocks. He was quite a talented blacksmith and I believe a wealth of “old” horse knowledge that was rarely tapped.
19 – How Wilma Hopwood and Wendy Tidbold inspired Kate
36 – Riding to Sandra Pearson-Adams property, leaving her horse and going to school.
46 – Patience with horses and horse people that you work for. Getting a horse industry qualification
21 – The flexibility within life, enjoying being your own boss, hanging out with horses is really quite grand
10 – The several good horses including ‘Ukon Gold’ who have inspired Kate
51 – Her first ride on the first horse that Kate broke in herself and enjoying the journey
25 – Being a parent and a rider – it is OK if you don’t do all the things you used to do.
50 – The expectation of themselves and the horses at competitions different from home
00 – Why body awareness is important
36 – Authors who have inspired Kate
45 – Going to the Nationals in Queensland
25 – Have more faith in our horses, try to communicate better and have good manners
41 – Contact: see details below
I’m quite passionate about helping beginner riders see their impact on horses behaviour and the way they can engage their body to enhance their riding rather than having a negative impact due to tension levels on the horses performance.
