About Brendan
– Brendan has been interested in horses since before he could walk or talk but coming from a non-horsey family it was an uphill battle breaking into the equine industry which he found to be a closed shop. Though his parents were both supportive, it was difficult to get started. Brendan and his wife were fortunate enough to buy a yard about 5 years ago. Now it is a small flourishing riding school bringing on the younger generation of equestrians. Brendan hopes that they can realise their goal of producing horses up the competition ranks. At present they have young horses and breeding stock which should form the backbone of their competition horses in the future.
Brendan is a produced rider who has been fortunate enough to have trained and worked with with top trainers from around the world including:
-Working for Rob Lovatt FBHS and Tim Downes FBHS and their yard in Stafford, UK.
-Working for Jonathan McLean Event rider in Melbourne, Australia.
-Working for Susan Kjaergaard former top 100 Grand Prix Show Jumper
-Carole Broad FBHS
-William Micklem FBHSBrendan is committed to building his skills and qualifications by travel and training and last year achieved the BHSI (BHS5PCCH), IGEQ International Level 3. His main area of interest is training rider and horse combinations particularly partnerships with problems. Learning theory and biomechanics are his main underpinning interest.
