Teaching Through Trust: The Rewards of Teaching with Horses
This Career in our Careers in the Horse Industry Series really shows how diverse the horse industry is and shows one of the ways that people with careers in other industries can use horses to compliment their work.
This career is Equine Facilitated Learning, also know as Equine Assisted Team Building or Equine Facilitated Therapy if you are qualified Therapist, counsellor, etc.
In this case you could already be working with clients, for therapy or counselling or to improve speech, communication, leadership or team building and would like to bring horses in to the mix.
People find horses easier to communicate with and in the company of horses, tricky conversations come easier.
Before starting this career, make sure you understand horse instinctive behaviour of horses how to teach your clients about horses handling and safety around horses. This step is extremely important, if you don’t have a solid understanding of the horses instinctive behaviour then one placing your clients at risk and possibly yourself at a risk of being sued.
Once you are qualified and established, this is an exciting part of your existing business! Teaching people about confidence, self-belief, and security, sending and receiving effective communication, trust and reliability.
Horses could be the missing link and the key to your success in your chosen field! Keep an open mind and always look for opportunities!
