“Ten Steps To A Deeper Connection With Your Horse”
1. Be present
• Often we don’t focus on what we do
• We are absent (we talk with others, on the phone,…)
• We are not in the moment
• Horses are well aware of our mindset
• If we want to connect with them, we have to be present
2. How do you see your Horse?
• Change your mindset how you see your horse if you want your Horse to change (“married couple
syndrome”)
• Negative thoughts lead to a negative horse (they understand what you are thinking)
3. Positive approach
• Positive thoughts
• Positive messages
• Reward
• Who would you prefer to be/work with? A pleasant person or a negative/unpleasant person?
4. From your horse’s viewpoint
• Why does my horse react that way?
• Sometimes we don’t know and we have to connect with them through Animal Communication. But
often we know. We can relate to how they feel
• Don’t ignore their feelings, fears, anxiety.
• Be understanding and help them as best as you can
5. Be patient/give them time
• Don’t rush your horse
• Give them time, help them understand the situation
• Be passionate
6. Respect your Horse as an equal being
• Treat your horse how you want to be treated
• Be polite
• Be calm
• Ask nicely
• Positive sentences (tell them what you want them to, not what you don’t want them to do)
• Kind voice
7. Let your Horse have an opinion
• Horses have no choice (being with us, working with us,…)
• We expect them to accept everything we put onto them
• Show them that their opinion counts
• Not feeling like working today? Let’s do something else!
• Find a good balance between your
• Don’t “control” your Horse, they should be able to express themselves and have a say
8. Be honest with your Horse and yourself
• Don’t pretend to be someone else
• If you are not comfortable, let them know (explain the situation to them)
• Only do what you feel capable of doing (your horse feels your insecurities)
• Don’t let yourself push by others to do things you are not comfortable of doing
• What is right and works for others might not be right and work for you and your horse
9. Have fun!
• Don’t overdo it
• Fun for you and your Horse is important
• Don’t overdo repetition (if they did it well)
• Play
• Let your hair down!
10. Listen to your Horse
• Connect with your Horse through Animal Communication
• Give them a voice
• Ask Questions
• Find solutions
