“Ten Ways That Riding From Within Is The New Paradigm”

– When we focus on the horse, the horse does not have to focus on us.  New paradigm shifts the focus “within”.  When the rider focuses inward, the horse focuses on the rider and we have its full attention.

– The horse is constantly balancing the rider, not vice versa

– Thinking and emotion disconnect the rider from the horse, regardless of whether that emotion or thought is positive or negative.

– Horses willingly move into “open space”. Tradition “old paradigm” riding relies on “yield to pressure”, this is disconnected and crass in comparison

– In ride from within we ride “up” first NOT forward first

– Seat Aids
– 3rd dimensional movement of the pelvis left/right, distance/speed, turning toward the rising or dropping seat bones.  Radically different from anything being taught in the traditional spheres.

– The root of “Lightness” is heaviness ….. de-mystifying the term Light

– Weight aid as thought of as a solid vs a liquid

– Bending the horses’ force in the riders’ spine as opposed to using leg and rein aids

– Rounding the lower thoracic spine to achieve “thoroughness” in the top line and lightening the forehand
