“Ten Tips to Train in Harmony”

1) Let the horse tell you what is wrong. Don’t assume

2) Do not anthropomorphism. Horses can not think like humans, we have to think like a horse

3) It’s up to me as a rider/trainer (think like a trainer not a rider) to teach the horse.
If they fail to learn I have failed to teach.

4) A trainer will work on one problem at a time.

5) All riders need to understand principles such as

5a) Stimulus response

5b) Habituation

5c) Flooding – Extinction Respones

5d) Maslow’s hierarchy of needs
Air, Water, Food, Safety Social, Serenity, Self Actulisation for Humans

6) Riders do not know what they do not know. Lean on your support net work

7) It takes years to understand inside leg to out side rein and half halt

8) Where knowledge ends violence begins

9) Try to be a better rider
Ride Lots of Horses

10) Ride with a quiet mind so as to stay open to what your horse is trying to tell you.
