1. Planning – Timescale – diary – other factors to consider

2. Preparation – Gear, equipment, stable or paddock (fields, pastures), float (trailer)

3. Walk Work – Walking work week 1 & 2 and grooming, 20 minutes daily to 60 minutes/90 minutes

4. Introducing Trot – Progressive walk & trot work – week 3 & 4

5. Introducing schooling – Week 4 – 5 and low hill walking

6. Starting the canter & jumping small grids- week 6 – 7

7. Interval training & hill work – week 7-8 – showjumping

8. Cross Country training. – Confident, strong

9. Lead Up To Event/Competitions

10. Keeping the fitness after the first event
