Leanne rode a horse from Melbourne to Canberra in 1988 – 1,000 kms in 21 days on the one horse, to celebrate the bi-centenary of the contribution of the horse to the settlement of Australia, culminating in forming a guard of honour for the Queen at Parliament House in Canberra.
Leanne has a son and daughter that both like to compete with her. She also runs a transport business and have either worked at an executive or managerial level in various industries, or when she felt like a change, would go truck driving part time.
Leanne grew up at a time when there was only cotton or canvas, only leather, and skills with horses, cattle and sheep were passed down from horseman to horseman. She has been very lucky to be helped by a couple of mentors.
