Considering How The Horse Feels For Calm and Connected Horsemanship
About Mark
– Mark is an inspirational horseman who considers how horse feels when he is working with it. He works with the horse, guides it, involves it in the educational process, and prioritises the horse feeling better about the education we give them.
Mark gives an insight into training which puts the horse first; and he has helped many people and horses in his unique and perceptive training which has come from the experience of starting and training thousands of horses, many of which have been highly sensitive, wild horses. His knowledge of horse psychology is fascinating – how he deals with “problems” or “bad behaviours”.

41:40 – We go in as a helper, if we take them from the herd, we have to replace them with the herd and that’s us, that’s the way they feel around us and the connection they have with us. When we operate them, we have to operate them in a way that allows them to search and make decisions for themselves, so that they can feel good about what they are doing. Then our ideas can become their ideas, through them enjoying connecting to our ideas.
