About Tracy
– Tracy is a free spirited person who adores her horses and loves riding motorbikes. She am involved with 2 business’, Big Joe Choppers with my partner Big Joe and Tracy Stead Equestrian Services. Tracy coaches riders full time as well as training horses.
In 1995 Tracy returned home after a 2 year stay in Malaysia, working with the equestrian industry, assisting with promotions and organising of major competitions. Tracy taught as a riding coach, trained their horses in all disciplines as well as having the opportunity to train with several top class coaches, including several clinics with Axel Causeux (first class jumping coach from France), Jenny Loriston -Clarke (Olympic Gold Medalist in dressage for England) as well as many other first class trainers from Germany, Sweden, and American Showjumping Coaches.
Tracy started off her Malaysian visit being Employed by the ‘Equine Council of Malaysia’ as the ‘Head Coach and National Co-ordinator of the NCAS EFA Level 1 Coaching Scheme’, promoter of the Equine Industry, coaching of the National DBKL Showjumping team, National Mounted Police Dressage and showjumping team and the Malaysian Armed Forces dressage and showjumping team.
She then moved on and took a position as Equestrian Manager with a very large and influential company boarding up to 50 horses and supervising 36 grooms and maintenance workers. Whilst they trained riders from beginners right through to experienced riders and horses. Tracy also competed with a large team of horses and riders never taking less than 12 horses to a single show and supporting and coaching a team consisting of no less than 6 riders.
Tracy has won many dressage Championships as well as showjumping events at the Ipoh show, Selangor Polo and Riding Club Show, Selangor Turf Club National Show, DBKL Showjumping Show as well as the prestigious Johor Corporation 5th Merdeka Dressage and Showjumping Carnival , a competition where RM 1,000,000 (A$ 500,000) was spent on preparation, presentation and prize money.
Here at home Tracy has many credits to her name, one of the biggest was being placed on the long list for the Olympics for Showjumping and being placed into the Elite Showjumping Squad Of NSW. Including wins at most of the Agricultural shows, Dressage events as well as at Major Showjumping Championships ,including ACT and NSW Showjumping Championships.
Tracy has also won twice Champion Showjumping rider at Sydney Royal as a child rider representing her local Pony Club, Dapto -Zone 22, not only at State level but also at National and International level.
For over 20 years she has trained many riders and horses in the disciplines of Show Riding, Dressage, Cross Country and Showjumping, and was even contracted within the movie industry to train actors to be equestrians as demanded by their chosen roles. She has also regularly taught at Sydney Showground and as well as at clinics within NSW and Tasmania. Tracy has sold many horses within the equine industry through her business ‘Sutton Forest Performance Horses’ on her property at Sutton Forest. A 50 acre Equestrian Centre consisting of 2 arenas, 8 horse Barn and agistment paddocks. And now under the name of “Tracy Stead Equestrian Services’ located in the Illawarra area.
